FAQ

Are your soaps natural?

We use high quality food grade vegetable oils and butters. The majority of our soaps are vegetarian with the exception of our goat milk soap. Goat milk is the only animal product that we use. We choose not to use phthalates, parabens, sulfates or synthetic preservatives.

What oils do you use to create your soaps?

Our small batch, handcrafted soaps are made from olive oil, coconut oil, rspo palm oil, and castor oil. Our even smaller batch of handcrafted goat milk soap is made from olive oil, goat milk, coconut oil and castor oil.

I'm not good with scents but I want to try an all natural soap. What do you recommend?

Staci, the creator of our soaps, has a highly sensitive nose. She recommends starting with simple goat milk or Oatmeal, Milk & Honey Soap. That is, if you like the scent of Oatmeal, Milk & Honey. It's really all about what  scents your nose can tolerate.

What about unscented soap?

It is difficult to achieve a completely unscented product which is why we will not use that term. At the minimum, there will be whatever scent is associated with the basic ingredients that are used like coconut oil or olive oil. If you have a sensitive nose you are more than familiar with the "unscented" claims in the marketplace. So many times we have found that unscented truly doesn't mean unscented because an ingredient is listed as a flavor or an oil. One item that we purchased clearly stated "unscented" in large bold letters on the front of the product, yet when we opened the product at home we were shocked at the flower scent that came from the product. The soap that we recommend which has hardly any smell is simple goat milk which contains a few basic ingredients and no fragrance or essential oil.

Our unscented promise to you:

  • We will not bury any potential scents that may cause your nose displeasure.

  • We will list all ingredients so that you may make an informed decision when purchasing our products.

What does "hand cut" soap mean?

Each bar of soap is cut with a long two handled knife creating unique bars and/or wire soap cutter.

If the creator of your soaps has a sensitive nose, how does she make highly scented soaps?

Staci uses a full face respirator.

How should I store the soap I just purchased?

The extra bars that you are not using should be kept in a cool closet or drawer. You can leave them in the box that they arrived in which will help to preserve their scent.

Is it necessary to use a soap dish with natural soap?

Yes! Natural soap needs to breathe. Placing it on an air circulating soap dish will extend the life of your soap.

Is your soap dish environmentally friendly?

Yes! We searched high and low for an eco-friendly, made in the U.S.A. and easy to clean soap dish. We found Soap Lifts. Soap Lifts are made in the U.S.A. of a durable, recyclable, multi-directional corn based bioplastic. They provide good air flow so the soap dries completely between each use. Be sure to place your soap and soap dish out of the stream of water. They clean remarkably well by simply holding it under running water and giving it a few squeezes. Soap Lifts are biodegradable and will decompose in 5 years after it is thrown away.

What is the shelf life for your soaps?

Our soaps just get better and better with age! After a year or so, some lightly scented essential oil soaps may loose some of their scent but the soap itself will be wonderful.

During the hot Texas summer months, we use reusable frozen cold packs and thermal bubble wrap to ensure that your products arrive in excellent condition. If there is a holiday near the date that your order is placed, we will contact you regarding your shipment date.

How much is shipping?

The Texas heat in the summer is crazy hot! Will my body butter or sugar scrubs melt?

The quality of our soaps and scrubs is our first priority. We have summer packaging including thermal bubble wrap and reusable frozen cold packs to protect your body butter and scrubs during shipping at no extra cost to you. We ask that you choose a delivery address that your package will not sit outside at for an extended period of time after it is delivered. In extreme humidity your soaps may feel slightly tacky when you receive them. They are perfectly fine to use. If you experience this, simply open the box top and place the box containing your soaps in a cool closet overnight.

Your soaps are so colorful. Will they stain my wash cloths?

Each soap is tested on a white wash cloth after it is cured. Although you may see some color on your wash cloth during use, a thorough rinsing of the wash cloth should remove any residual color*. *Activated charcoal and red colors may leave some residual color on a white wash cloth.

I don't live in the United States. Can I order from you?

Yes! Simply email us and we will discuss shipping options.

What about insurance?

Where are you located?

Our handcraft soap is made in Fort Worth, Texas. Fort Worth went from a sleepy outpost to a bustling town when it became a stop along the legendary Chisholm Trail, the dusty path where millions of cattle were driven North to market in the late 19th century. Fort Worth became the center of the cattle drives, and later, the ranching industry. Its location on the Old Chisholm Trail, helped establish Fort Worth as a trading and cattle center and earned it the nickname "Cowtown."

Do you test your products on animals or use animal oils?

Never. Just ask Lucie! Our soaps are tested on humans.

What breed of dog is Lucie?

Lucie is a Border Collie and Great Pyrenees mix.

Do you offer soap for dogs?

We do not. Anyone who knows us understands that we are very particular in the products that we choose for our beloved dogs. Meticulous research was conducted on this subject, to include consulting with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the American College of Veterinary Dermatology along with our long time Veterinarian. Neither found the use of bar soap on dogs to be beneficial to their skin or recommended them, with or without essential oils or fragrances. The pH of a dogs skin is very different than human skin. Just like a dogs sense of smell is 40 times greater than ours. Using a bar soap on a dog with any type of smelly oil, essential oil or fragrance oil would be a nightmare for a dog. If it has a strong scent to you, just imagine how it smells to your beloved dog. I pride myself in handcrafting high quality products that are skin loving. I will not handcraft a product that I would not personally use.
